The Coastal Empire R.O.C.K. Group

First Steps-Parents of Newborns program is a the only hospital-based, volunteer-driven primary prevention program is Chatham County.  First Steps utilizes trained volunteers to offer emotional support, parenting education, and referrals to community resources to all parents. Initial contact is made with the parent shortly after the baby's birth. Follow-up contact, including telephone calls, is conducted for a minimum of 3 months after delivery.  First Steps operates as a partnership between The Coastal Empire R.O.C.K Group and St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital which serves as the host site.
